    @Judy Vallas Yup, it's not super common, I know it was fairly common in my neighborhood growing up in SoCal, but then when I lived in TX people said it there too, tho less often. For the past 15 years I've lived in Oregon, and it's still said every once in a while. Tho the term has been replaced more and more with "don't give a s**t" or "couldn't give less of a f**k", etc... More "colorful" options which seem to be more popular by far. but it's still said enough that I hear it among friends from time to time. . So yeah, it might be regional, or just not as widely used anymore. But it's still fairly commonplace.

    I love this video and by association the way your new book works! As a professional chef I would be very interested in seeing a video showing how to look at what you have in your kitchen and using that to make a dish. Being able to look at a set of ingredients and on the fly see what dish I can make out of them is what has shown front of house that I’m a good chef 😁

    I'm dead guilty of picking a recipe and then finding out half way through , it takes an extra hour than I've got . My top tip for speed - pick the right recipe. Slightly more serious tip - get all your ingredients out first - from fridge freezer , veg rack, cupboard just get am all out and stick em on a tray our a box or something Longer term tip - think about your kitchen organisation and make sure you can get to all your immediate stuff quick e.g. next to my hob. - on the work top ( all the time) i have salt pepper butter chopping board and waste bowl in front of me , in the cupboard above my chopping board, - i have herbs spices rice and pasta in the cupboard below my chop board - I have oils, vinegars, soy, rice wine & oyster sauce

    Good tips! I'm partially disabled, so my tip is, when you have a "good" day, prep stuff and freeze or cook extra and freeze. I cook loads of ground (mince) beef, and freeze it by the pound, flat, in vacuum seal bags. Being able to skip the "cook and drain meat" step when making taco salad, chili, spaghetti sauce, etc. saves a lot of effort. I often cheat and use frozen or store chopped onion/carrot/celery/peppers. Another cheat, if you can afford it, is to buy the store cooked rotisserie chicken. You can serve as is, save the bones/carcass to make stock, or use it in any recipe calling for pre-cooked chicken.

    I just found your channel.. I've watched a few of your vids and I'm LOVING it, I've subbed :D I'm a newbie, I found my passion for cooking in lock down :) Can I as a question? James mentioned about direct and indirect heat.. What's the difference between the 2? I've never heard of that before.

    I vacuum pack portions of fish, pork and steak, freeze them and then sous vide. Sous vide takes time, but virtually no effort.

    Lads; Thank you for your videos! The Garlic/Grater hack in here has been a life saver since i saw it. There were times when i wanted to use garlic in a dish, and i would pass simply because i didn't want to dice it up. Since watching your video, i have been adding garlic to everything because it is so damned easy now. Thanks from the bottom of my garlic-healthier heart!

    Just found you guys n I'm loving your channel so thank you... Quick tips I use... Chopping onions with a hand blender with the chopping container attachment ....and I've got to make my own mayo cos I have a seed allergy so no shop bought mayo, so again a hand blender, 200ml light olive oil, good squeeze of lemon juice, teaspoon mild mustard, pinch of sugar, salt and freshly ground pepper to taste, 1 whole egg,2 egg yolks and using the blender blend from the very bottom of the container slowly getting all the yolks until everything comes together, none of that slow drizzle nonsense,mayo in under a minute 😉👍

    When my kids were little I convinced them that frozen peas were a treat for after dinner. Now they prefer frozen peas over cooked ones. So on a night when I'm going to serve peas, I just have to pour them from the bag into bowls.

    My problem isn't that I'm too lazy to cook, it's that my boyfriend never decides what he wants for dinner until like 8 o clock at night! My tip is kinda specific to marinara/spaghetti, but I've started making what I call flavor bombs. toast a butt ton of dried herbs and seasonings until fragrant, then add just enough water to make a thin paste like substance. I feel like cooking all the flavorful stuff before adding the tomato base helps give it that simmered-for hours flavor in a portion of the time

    Will this work with substitutes? For example, if I don't have any spring onions can I pickle spiralised/shredded cucumber in the microwave, or use a different type of mushroom?

    First time commenting here! I cant find chipotle sauce in my supermarket in Singapore so I substituted it with gochujang instead. It was delicious! I added strips of onion and tomato too. Thank you for a wonderful recipe and shortcut! (:

    Shame on professional chef calling tortillas 'tacos'. My CBA? Heat tortilla in skillet 30 seconds each side. In the meantime open a can of refritos. Heat refritos in the microwave for 1 minute. Put them on tortilla, top with shredded cheese and salsa. Fold into a burrito. Even easier, put shredded cheese between tortillas, stick under the broiler for a minute, turning once, eat resulting quesadilla with salsa.

    Tried the recipe tonight for dinner. And t’was splendid indeed. I would like to add a tip, if your grocer does not carry or have no stock of king trumpet mushrooms, I find that grating regular cremini or button mushrooms achieves the same effect. Cheers!

    I hate to call BS on the time. @1:53 the microwave shows 6.39 as he's starting to pull the mushrooms. @6:47 the microwave shows 7.00 as he raises his hands "Finished!" How exactly is the time calculated? :P

    Just cooked this with my son. Tasted delicious. The online recipe asked for a 200ml liquid addition which was not needed. Watching the video, I don't think you did. Will do it without next time but otherwise - yummy

    Pasta or rice dishes are my go to's when I think I can't be bothered to cook. My problem is keeping it simple, even if I start out under motivated I almost always end up with a semi elaborate one pot wonder.

    I'm just going to believe the clock on the microwave is broken otherwise it took 19-20 minutes for Jamie to finish the dish. AT 2:12 in the video, he is almost done with the mushrooms, and the clock shows 6.41. Then Jamie calls stop the clock at 6:46 and the clock shows 7.00.

    To involve kids (5+) in chopping without using a knife, keep a pair of safety scissors (the kind you buy for kindergartners) for chopping veggies. Kids are safe, bell pepper gets chopped. Some veg needs a bit of prep, but fun and easy for the kiddos.

    An awesome recipe to try! They looked delish! Just a little feedback for you. I found all the slow motion segments in the middle to break the flow of the video and I was finding myself not enjoying as much as I normally do. Still love you guys. Just wanted to give a bit of feedback.

    Not sure if controversial but ... When cooking home made oven-chips I throw them in the microwave for 5-10mins first covered in clingfilm and then put them in my oven / air fryer it makes them soft on the inside and crispy on the out .. And it saves a good 10-15mins than just the oven ...

    A weird pass-it on idea: Theme: Comfort food Order: From person with high alcohol tolerance to low alcohol tolerance Curveball: Every one of them will take a shot every 5 minutes, they will cook just like how they normally do. As possible, normals should avoid using knives and someone will supervise it (I mean Barry might leave the hob on and burn themselves). Why should the person will low alcohol tolerance goes last? 2 things, no cooking involve and messy plating.
