    @SORTEDfood way to dry, I couldn’t even knead, just kept falling apart. They were medium sized eggs. I used plain flour (homepride)

    Thank you for this awesome video! So excited to try making pasta - I always thought you needed a pasta machine for it... I stand corrected! Out of curiousity, are there other ways to fold the filled pasta to make more of them? It seemed like there was a lot of pasta scrap afterwards!

    What about gluten free pasta ? I can't eat gluten because of celiac disease .What about gf ep of snack food recipes with baking .I been have lot failing and ingredients are so expensive.

    I think we need some new head to head to head battles, seems like the lads have learned a fair bit since the last ones. As for themes; most pretentious dish? Best cafe lunch? Most hipster recipe? Environmentally sustainable ultimate battle? Most expensive recipe? Exotic food? Modern fine dining? Pack lunch battle? I miss the battles and the banter, and sure I’m not the only one.

    I love a good vodka sauce over pasta. Also another favorite of mine is a brown butter sauce with garlic, lemon juice, add some veggie stock concentrate and parmesan plus some as-needed pasta water. Works great with lemony ricotta to serve on top 😍

    i might as well make fresh pasta, never knew it was this easy. i mean, i already use 6-8 hours when cooking bolognese, so fresh pasta would just elevate the experience really.

    I just did the reciepe and had to wing it... my eggs were way smaller than those ben had. Consistency wise it looks about the same, maybe a bit stickier. I'll see if I messed everything up tomorrow 😅

    I tried this last night but used gluten free flour, I couldn't get dough to go elasticy, would remain slightly crumbly and tore very easily when rolled out. Operator error or can I blame the flour?

    My toddler loves filled pasta passionately. I must be a bad mother, I could do it at home and never did. Her birthday is coming up..I might try. I only made good homemade pasta once. Whole spelt tagliatelle for my mother in law. All other times I tried I failed.

    @SORTEDfood yes bro lol , I have you tried Indian panner with any British curry or pizza. I have tried bacon stir fried and seasoned and add cooked rice .

    Maybe I'm fancy, but I make my own pesto and freeze it (without cheese). Basil is so easy to grow. Plain fresh pasta with some of that and good parmesan grated in is sooo easy and delicious. But I will also admit to sometimes getting lazy and having the pesto and cheese on crackers or toast, lol.

    My pasta was thicc. Any tips on how to get it flat with a rolling pin? I thought the dough was pretty flat when I cut it, but after cooking it was thick. (I used semolina..semelina?.. flour btw)

    I really loved this series, and I'd definitely like to see more. I think risotto would be a good subject...I love eating it, but somehow I'm always intimidated by making it (so I never do).

    Ben, thank you for this video! My 2yr old loved it very much and was so excited to make her own pasta just like you did. The sorted food channel has really inspired her to cook more and more on her own. She is learning at such a young age. Here is her video we put together of her following your steps.     I made it for dinner, quite good! But I had a really hard time rolling out the dough thin enough, it's like it was too elastic that it would just bounce back. Did it need more rolling out, or something else?

    I really love this miniseries, it's been super helpful to understand things better in literal ratios (as I'm terrible following recipes). Ben explains the fundamentals in a way that makes me excited about trying this at some point (as I've already jazzed up omelettes thanks to his advice and have had them go down well!)

    Videos like this one are all I really want in Sorted. Challenges and trying kitchen utensils is all fun and games but I initially started watching Sorted for the simple concept of a chef and a normal showing a recipe. Please keep those vids coming. Love from Altschauerberg 8, 91448 Emskirchen.

    Please tell me how big that egg is. It looks absolutely massive compared to my (apparently) pathetic australian eggs and now my dough is crumbly and dry. Time to try again with more eggs I guess?

    This is the first fresh pasta video I've seen without a pasta machine, which I don't want to buy because of a small kitchen. I'm excited to give this a shot just rolling it out by hand! You really made it seem simple. I loved that you explained the mechanics and then did an easy and medium difficulty interpretation and encouraged us to be creative. I really love this series!

    I has learned that you roll the pasta untill you can see the board/table/bench under thru the pasta plate. You made it super thick.

    Not a fan of mushrooms but dried some black trumpet mushrooms and crushed it to make a mushroom seasoning! Mixed into pasta dough and OMG too die for:-) Love your show all the way from Stockholm!

    My favourite super easy pasta sauce is to brown some butter, then take it off the heat, immediately press some garlic into the pan giving it an almost deep fried effect then simply add pasta and a splash of the pasta water. Some pepper on top and you have yourself a garlicky nutty treat.

    Instead of making the guys compete over who can taste pretension better and go over what flavors you are looking for in ingredients? What characteristics do you want in spices, what makes a cheddar a good cheddar, etc. having everything a competition is really fucking boring.

    I'm a bit like James is when it comes to making Mayo. Once you've made your own pasta there is no going back to the dry stuff... Its not that hard to make and if you get yourself a roller it is even easier.
