Why do brits hate paella so much?!?!!?! Also you can form a crust with a non sticking pan. The crust is formed with the grease of the sofrito and the starch of the rice while the paella is resting. What is difficult is to form the crust with long grain rice. You need one with more starch like bomba, a round rice.

I recently boiled some bones in water, put in some grains which were cultivated over thousands of years, added some plants which tasted pretty nice when cooked... I called it "food"... I received multiple death threats. Most of the comments I received were due to the fact that I cooked my "food" in a pot and served my "food" in a bowl. Apparently "food" is traditionally cooked on a stone and served on a stone. And it doesn't contain some of the items that I added to suit my own tastes. Who knew that "food" could be so strict?

because English has no ll sound and there is a lot of false information circulating about how to pronounce it correctly. If you don't have the foundation for the sounds in another language it makes things very hard. many English folk struggle with Welsh, because the sounds are very different. Welsh also has a ll. But it's pronounced like a ch, English folk just pronounce it as an l sound because they struggle with the ch sound.

Ok so lemme complain a bit. To preface this, I was born in Spain and my family is Spanish/Argentine/Italian, so I think I know a little bit. First of all, THE PRONUNCIATION WHAT THE ACTUAL JESUS CHRIST. Ok second, its. not. paella. if. there. isn't. safron. I don't understand why throughout the whole entire dish, save for James at the very end, they didn't use ANY saffron? Ok, and last is whats this thing about not having seafood and land food in the same paella? It's meant to have chicken and chorizo as the land meat, and things like cod, muscles, clams, etc, as sea food.

Pass-it-on idea: Everyone picks an ingredient from the table, writes down a dish on a piece of paper and puts it in a bowl. First one out would pick a note from the bowl and that's is what they are cooking. No one else gets to see the note that was picked. Order would be alphabetical based on the ingredients they picked.

You should do this same thing as this video, but as a Paranoia RPG style thing. Everyone gets told what the final dish is supposed to be, but everyone gets told individually a secret ingredient, component or style that they have to try and make sure is included and visible in the final dish, or is the star of the dish.
